Tonight's swearing in ceremony for Joe Biden, the US's 46th president, will take place with a limited attendance at the steps of the Capitol Hill building.
Members of Congress, the incoming president's family members, and former presidents Obama, Clinton and George W Bush will be on hand for the event.
Outgoing President Trump will not be in attendance as stated. VP Pence is slated to attend.
