Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny boarded a plane from Berlin to Moscow after receiving extensive treatment in Germany following an alleged attempt by Russian authorities to poison the outspoken Kremlin critic.

Navalny is expected to land in Moscow Sunday evening. He is suspected of being poisoned prior to an internal flight on Aug 20, 2020.

Following the incident, Navalny was flown to Berlin where he recuperated after remaining in a coma for days.

AP reported at the time that tests conducted by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons established that he was exposed to a Soviet-era Novichok nerve agent.
