Knesset member Michael Malchieli, chairman of the Shas party, has called upon the government to provide urgent assistance to the nation's public hospitals.
"When the morbidity rate soars and our dedicated doctors do holy work for the nation of Israel, it is incumbent upon us as representatives of the public to awaken and save the public hospitals that are on life support. In a few more weeks, we will not be able to save these hospitals and we will weep for them," Malchieli said.
Malchieli called upon Minister of Finance Yisrael Katz (Likud) to intervene in the budgetary crisis facing the hospitals.
