The Ombudsman for Public Complaints against State Representatives in the Courts, Judge (Retired) David Rosen, received a complaint filed by a defense attorney regarding leaks from a murder investigation file and forwarded a recommendation to the Attorney General to open a criminal investigation into the matter.

The Ombudsman noted in his decision that the picture that emerged from the complaint is serious: "Police investigations, and more precisely, key and significant investigative materials, are provided to the media, time and time again, in a 'deliberate' working method, with division according to the main TV channels, each channel with its part, as well as other media. All of it before transferring the same materials, which belong to the main part of the investigation, to the defense - and some of them even before they were submitted to the State Attorney's Office."
