President Reuven Rivlin urged civilians to obey the lockdown.
"I call on all public leaders - in all cities, in all sectors, political leaders, spiritual leaders, mayors, leaders of civic movements - to fulfill your duty and halt the danger of anarchy.
"The closure, with all its shortcomings, as determined by the government, obliges us all."
