Conference of European Rabbis: 'If US has cold, world has pneumonia'

In reaction to the chaotic scenes in Washington DC that saw Donald Trump supporters storming the US Capitol, Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the Conference of European Rabbis, has issued the following statement:

“Let us pray for the United States, the country, which taught the world civility in political discourse and how to build democratic institutions. If the US has a cold, the world has pneumonia.”
