Defense Minister and incoming Justice Minister Benny Gantz completed his first series of meetings at the Justice Ministry. In this context, Minister Gantz held meetings with the Attorney General and acting Ministry Director, and there was an opening conversation with the senior Justice ministry staff.
"I'm happy to be here today, and more than that I feel the importance of being here," Gantz said. "One of the main reasons I pushed for the formation of the unity government was the ability to deal with the coronavirus crisis in all its health, economic, and social implications, and do so while preserving democracy and the judiciary in Israel, as a system perhaps among the most important that determines Israel's democratic resilience. We wanted to guard the guards and that's why it was so important to me to have this office over the past few months."
