The Knesset plenum approved in second and third readings the Basic Law of the State Economy, and the Budget Basics Bill. The proposals establish a new arrangement regarding the manner in which the government's budget is conducted in a year for which a budget law has not been approved - a continuous budget year.
The proposals stipulate a permanent amendment regarding the continuing budget mechanism and also stipulate a temporary provision for regulating the continuation budget in fiscal year 2021, which aims to allow this budget to be based on the budget additions allocated for 2020.
