The physician's Public Emergency Council for the Coronavirus Crisis issued a statement on the upcoming lockdown, saying: "A poor factual basis was presented to the members of the government, according to which an unnecessary closure was decided."

They continued: "Last Friday, Dec. 25th, the government approved, via telephone poll, the regulations for the third closure.

"The document on which the ministers were based is replete with misleading and erroneous data.

"This morning, the Public Emergency Council for the Coronavirus Crisis sent all members of the Knesset Constitution and Justice Committee who are supposed to approve the regulations a document in which they show how the data presented in the decision document are incorrect."
