President Reuven Rivlin partially complied with the demand by the Women's Lobby in Israel to remove the statue bearing the figure of former President Moshe Katsav from the row of statues placed in the President's Garden.
The Maariv newspaper reported that the statue remains intact, but a sign was attached to its base stating that the eighth president had been convicted of rape and imprisoned.
