Former Likud Minister Ayoub Kara stated today that he has yet to decide whether to enter the Knesset in place of Zeev Elkin, who tendered his resignation this morning after announcing that he would be joining New Hope.
"I had a good conversation with the Knesset Speaker, my friend Yariv Levin, and I told him that I was in two minds as to whether to return to the Knesset. One doubt I have relates to my concern that the Likud will not be holding primaries in advance of the elections, which means that I will have no chance to correct the injustice that was plotted against me at the previous primaries. My other doubt relates to my commitment to promoting peace and economic ties between Israel and the Gulf states."
Kara added that, "I also told Levin that Likud members were putting tremendous pressure on me to return to the Knesset - and that I am also subject to pressure from other sources not to do so. We agreed that by noon on Friday I would inform him of my decision," he concluded.
