MK Betzalel Smotrich has written to the head of the Police Investigatory Department, Keren Ben Menachem, following the announcement that the police officers involved in the car chase that led to the tragic death of Ahuvya Sandak are to be interrogated.
"Certain reliable information has reached me, indicating that the police officers involved in this incident have yet to be interrogated and are continuing to work as usual, giving them the opportunity to warp the investigation," he wrote.
"It is inconceivable that police involved in such a serious incident should be allowed to wander about free for three days afterward, and there exists serious suspicion that they have used these few days to destroy evidence and muddy the investigation. This raises concrete concerns that the investigation is being conducted in at best a sloppy manner, and at worst, is being deliberately mismanaged."
