Dr. Amir Shahar, head of the ICU at Laniado hospital in Netanya, told Radio 103FM this morning that in his opinion, the government's decision to impose a third nationwide lockdown was "in error."
"This lockdown is a mistake," he said. "Lockdown hasn't succeeded in stopping the epidemic in any country in the world. Lockdowns do not eliminate viruses - they simply do not work."
He added that, "It appears that this virus has impacted the ability to think straight for a large number of people. According to the Health Ministry, there's no influenza in Israel this year. The coronavirus has basically replaced the flu virus - that's the infection we're seeing."
