Civilian security forces opened fire at a Palestinian Arab suspect during a chase in the Hebron area overnight Tuesday.
The security personnel identified a suspicious vehicle that was making its way to the Palestinian Arab village of Bani Na'im and asked to stop it for inspection, but it began to accelerate and flee the scene, and they began chasing after it. During the chase the driver stopped and got out of the vehicle, apparently due to a flat tire. The suspect approached the security vehicle and tried to open its door, and in response the forces fired at him and he was wounded in the pelvis. The suspect was taken to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva. His vehicle will be inspected.
