The Knesset approved on Tuesday night the first reading of an amendment to the Basic Law permitting an ongoing budget.
Since this is a Basic Law, a special majority of 61 Knesset members is required to approve it, and indeed 63 MKs supported the proposal, compared to 10 who opposed it. The proposals will be forwarded to the Finance Committee to prepare them for a second and third reading.
