The government is expected to authorize prohibitions on gatherings of members of more than one household for the evening hours of Hanukkah, starting this evening.

The fine for unauthorized presence in a residence not one's own is to be set at NIS 500.

Exceptions to the prohibition will be made for: Provision/receipt of essentials; medical treatment including alternative medical treatment; social workers visiting their clients; coming to the aid of a person in distress; minor children visiting a parent with whom they do not live full-time; provision of essential treatment to animals; sending one's minor child or children to stay with another family while the parent(s) leaves the home for an authorized reason.
