The government is due to convene today in order to authorize coronavirus restrictions that will be applied during the upcoming festival of Hanukkah to Jewish communities only. Hanukkah begins this evening and lasts for eight days.
According to recommendations from the Health Ministry that were given to ministers, from today (December 10) until December 18, citizens will be banned from visiting each other's homes from half past five in the afternoon until midnight. This will apply in all towns and cities where a majority of residents are Jewish. In addition, gatherings (of two people and more) will be forbidden during these hours, unless they are comprised solely of people who live in the same residence.
