Internal Security Minister Amir Ohana is expected to announce his candidacy for the post of police commissioner in the near future, possibly as early as today, Tuesday, Channel 12 reported.

It is estimated that Minister Amir Ohana will choose from the following candidates: retired Yoram Halevi, former Chief of the Jerusalem Police, Doron Yadid, the current Chief of Jerusalem Police, Shimon Levy, Chief of the Northern District and possibly Yaakov Shabtai, Border Police commander. The name of the candidate to be elected by Ohana will be submitted for approval to the Senior Appointments Committee and then to the Government for approval.
