MK Kathrin Shitrit (Likud) has issued a sharp attack against the Yamina party, accusing it of abandoning its ideals for political gains.
"Bennett and Kahane have now shown that they have abandoned the settlement project for the next four years in order to sit with Lapid and Meretz in government - they have also shown that the only genuinely right-wing party is the Likud," she said. "Just minutes after fighting against the Trump peace plan [for its support of a Palestinian state], Bennett is joining forces with Meretz and the like and has effectively buried all ideas of sovereignty over Judea and Samaria."
She added that, "Netanyahu was the one who protected Judea and Samaria during the Obama era; he was the one who strengthened the settlements during the Trump years; and he is the one who will continue to protect the settlements during the Biden administration. A person who cares about the Land of Israel doesn't abandon the settlement enterprise," she said.
