Industry & Economy Minister Amir Peretz (Labor) has formally announced his intention to be nominated as Israel's next president.
"This is something I feel myself capable of doing, as I know how to create dialogue between the various elements of Israeli society - between haredim, secular, right-wingers, left-wingers," he told Galei Tzahal. "Everyone respects my point of view, even though they may disagree with me."
