MK Merav Michaeli (Labor) has voted in favor of a bill to deny guardianship to a parent convicted of murder or attempted murder within the family.

"This bill is of paramount importance for the protection of minors and spouses who are harmed," said MK Michaeli, "but we must not forget that the most important procedure required is rehabilitation. Denial of guardianship is not a magic bullet and the state should be investing a great deal of resources toward the treatment and rehabilitation of violent men in order to prevent the atrocities that lead to the removal of guardianship."
