The government today accepted a joint resolution from the Social Equality and Retirement Minister MK Merav Cohen and Civil Service Commissioner Professor Daniel Hershkovitz that promotes employment of senior citizens in the civil service.
As part of the government decision, the employment route for seniors working in the "senior citizen standard" will be expanded from 86,400 hours to 576,000 working hours per year.
In addition, a team will be established consisting of representatives of the Social Equality Ministry and the Civil Service Commission, in which quantitative and qualitative indicators will be formulated for the purpose of controlling the employment of senior citizens, as well as additional tools for their employment.
