The Supreme Court will later issue a ruling regarding the eviction of Khan al-Ahmar, after a confidential hearing in which the State presented "political considerations" to freeze the implementation of the ruling.
Regavim Movement Director Meir Deutsch said at the end of the debate: "The most obvious thing that came up in today's debate is that the State didn't come up with any legal argument, but only in mysterious policy statements hidden from the public. The Supreme Court previously ruled that considerations at the political level cannot justify ignoring the execution of final judgments.
"In the situation that has arisen, it is to be hoped that the Court will not fall into the political trap that the Prime Minister is trying to lay. The fact that the Knesset, the government, and even the cabinet do not share this decision indicates that this is only a political event," he added.
