According to Deputy Finance Minister Yitzhak Cohen, if the behavior of government members doesn't change substantially, the coalition is almost certain to break up.
"The situation right now is terrible," Cohen told Galei Tzahal. "You can't run a government - or a country - like this. But I hope very much that there will be a dramatic change for the better and that Gantz will back down on the issue of the budget, and that the government will last for another few years.
"Gantz is a patriotic man," he added, "and personally, I am also focused on the good of the country. What I think Gantz should do is back down on the rotation agreement [i.e. allow Netanyahu to serve as prime minister for the duration of the current government] and remain at the Defense Ministry where he is doing a great job."
