The Israel Electricity Company (IEC) has recorded a 1,664% increase in the number of lightning strikes overnight, as compared to the daily average in November.
2,097 lightning strikes were recorded in the last day in Israel, as compared to an average of 126 on other years. Most were in the coastal region, between Ashkelon and Haifa, as well as in the Gush Dan region and in the Western Galilee.
