Defense Minister Benny Gantz, the head of the Blue & White party, has welcomed the conclusions drawn by the Justice Minister (Blue & White's Avi Nissenkorn) and an inter-ministerial team today, recommending that cannabis consumption be legalized for those 21 and older.

"As I promised all along, we are presenting an outline for the legalization of cannabis use, in a manner that will address the needs of Israeli citizens in a responsible manner," he said. "I congratulate Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn and the members of the inter-ministerial team, headed by the deputy Attorney-General, Amit Merari, who are spearheading the reforms along with MK Ram Shefa, who is responsible for Blue & White's own efforts on this issue, along with MK Sharren Haskel [Likud]."

Gantz added that his party "intends to lead the push for legislation in the Knesset, and I hope that I will find many other politicians collaborating with us on this issue. Too many citizens have suffered for too long, and it's about time we rectified the situation."
