Health Ministry director-general Prof. Hezi Levy told Galei Tzahal this morning that while vaccines may arrive in the country soon, it will take a while before a vaccination program commences.
"We are in continued negotiations with a number of pharmaceutical companies for the procurement of vaccines," he said. "I am fairly certain that we will receive at least some vaccine doses within the first few months of 2021, but we won't be able to begin vaccinating citizens at least until the second half of next year."
