Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz said his country would defend its Jewish community on the 82nd anniversary of Kristallnacht, a nightly pogrom of Jewish businesses by SA forces in Germany.
"We will defend European Jewry with all means at our disposal," promised Kurz.
