As a Biden presidency seems increasingly likely, Sunni Arab states are contemplating what this could mean for them specifically as it relates to Iran. Yisrael Hayom reports that Arab rulers are concerned that Biden could renew American's nuclear agreement with the Shiite state - not necessarily due to his own foreign policy preferences, but due to pressure he will come under from those who will likely surround him in Washington and who will wield the real power.
A senior official in the United Arab Emirates told Yisrael Hayom that: "There is grave suspicion that an American administration under Biden will remove the sanctions currently in place against Tehran that were imposed under Trump, and will draft a new nuclear agreement. Taking such a step could easily lead to the Iranian rulers strengthening their regional position and the effective removal of American protection for Arab states that we attained when we signed normalization treaties with Israel."
