According to updated figures from the Health Ministry, 1,089 people tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, out of 42,909 tests conducted - a positivity rate of 2.7%.
There are currently 581 people in serious condition in the country's hospitals, with 231 on ventilators.
The death toll has risen to 2,292 people since the outbreak of the pandemic.
