According to updated figures from the Health Ministry, 1,608 people tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, with testing revealing a positivity rate of 4.5% during that timespan.
There are currently 713 people in serious condition in the country's hospitals, of whom 247 are on ventilators.
The death toll rose to 2,128 in the last day.
