Following the lead of Labor party chief Amir Peretz, the Minister of Economy, the Finance Minister, Yisrael Katz, has called for small businesses that do not receive the public to be permitted to reopen next Sunday.

He added that all businesses employing up to 10 people should also be allowed to resume operations, and that preschool classes should be allowed to resume.

Katz also stressed his support for moving toward a differential system of lockdown, under which only red cities would remain under closure orders, and he noted that the Finance Ministry plans to appoint a special team that will be in charge of providing assistance to the residents of red towns and cities, in order to help them to cope with the crisis until their contagion rates drop.
