MK Moshe Yaalon (Yesh Atid-Telem) announced today that he does not intend to participate in the Knesset vote on Israel's treaty with the UAE.
"I made a request to have the contents of the treaty submitted to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, but my request went unanswered," he said. "Time passed, the treaty was signed, and the Prime Minister announced his intention to bring the treaty to the Knesset for approval.
"Accounts of the treaty from foreign sources, the involvement of international bodies in drafting the agreement, and the Prime Minister's deliberate concealment from the Knesset, and even from the cabinet, all raise worrying questions and are inconsistent with responsible and proper state conduct. Israel's security is not Netanyahu's private business. Therefore, I will not vote on the agreement when it is presented today to the Knesset plenum," Yaalon concluded.
