Speaking with Galei Tzahal this morning, Health Ministry deputy director-general Prof. Itamar Grotto explained why the number of tests for coronavirus has recently dropped significantly.

"It appears that there really are less sick people," he said, "and therefore less people are coming to get tested. We have no problem in terms of testing capacity," he stressed. "48,000 tests were conducted yesterday, for instance. And it's a fact that the percentage of positive tests has dropped to 7.5%."

Grotto added that, "Despite the reports of breach of guidelines here and there, most people are doing the right thing. Of course prominent people should definitely not be breaking the rules, but when it comes to each of us, we have to look at ourselves and not at others."
