Following the diplomatic efforts of Israel's UN ambassador Gilad Erdan, Sara Weiss Ma'udi has been elected as vice chairperson of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
Erdan expressed his belief that "there is a direct connection between Israel's recent peace agreements and the election of Weiss Ma'udi to this office."
