According to updated figures from the Health Ministry, 4,949 people were diagnosed with coronavirus in the last 24 hours, with testing showing a positive rate of around 15%.
There are currently 779 people in serious condition in the country's hospitals, with 203 on ventilators.
The cumulative death toll from the outbreak of the epidemic now stands at 1,528 people.
