    Pew survey shows more Americans support single payer healthcare

    According to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center, the number of Americans supporting a single national government program (aka "single payer system") for healthcare is on the increase.

    63% of the survey's respondents believe that the government is responsible for providing healthcare for all Americans, up from 59% last year. And 36% responded that this healthcare provision should be via a single national government program, up from 30% last year.
