Minister of Finance Israel Katz has signed an order that eliminates customs tax on imported fresh vegetables in order to keep down prices on these items.
Imported vegetables free from customs tax include tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, potatoes, and others.
During the holiday season this time of year, the demand in Israel for fresh vegetables soars.
