According to new figures published by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), influenza and pneumonia have overtaken coronavirus as prime causes of death in Britain.

The Telegraph reports that just 78 people died of coronavirus in the United Kingdom in the week ending September 4, the lowest weekly figure since the pandemic's outbreak.

One percent of UK deaths now mention coronavirus on the death certificate, as opposed to 12.8 percent which mention influenza and pneumonia.
