Interviewed on Channel 13 this evening, MK Yakov Litzman (UTJ), who resigned his position as Construction Minister earlier today in protest at the government's decision to impose a nationwide lockdown over the High Holidays, alleged that the lockdown was planned in advance by Prof. Roni Gamzu, the government's coronavirus czar.
"Ronni Gamzu has been planning to shut the synagogues for weeks," Litzman said. "This was entirely deliberate."
Litzman also pointed out that coronavirus morbidity statistics have been rising for over a month already, and that there is no obvious reason why the government waited until now to take action - unless they intended all along to shut the synagogues during the High Holidays.
