Minister for Regional Cooperation Ofir Akunis has stated his opposition to a nationwide lockdown, stating that "it would be disastrous for the economy. We have to find a middle way that provides for the needs of the economy as well as the needs of citizens' health."
He added that, "Therefore, immediately after Rosh Hashanah, we have to enable businesses to resume operation with restrictions, including trade, restaurants, hotels, vacation homes - and of course we will have to abolish the restriction keeping people to within 500 meters of their homes."
