An Israeli invention of an aritificial pancreas that produces insulin may soon make self-care for diabetics a lot simpler. The invention involves an artificial pancreas wrapped in tissues taken from a pig's lung that will produce insulin on its own.
The pancreas would be transplanted into the body of the diabetic and could put an end to the need for insulin injections.
