Speaking on Reshet Bet this morning, Finance Minister Yisrael Katz discussed yesterday's resignation of the Treasury's budget supervisor, Shaul Meridor, reportedly due to his inability to conform to government policy and to ongoing disagreements with the Finance Minister himself.

"Recently - in fact, as soon as elections were in the air - Meridor began acting in a blatantly politicized manner, opposing the government in a number of areas," Katz told his interviewer. "From the tone of his resignation letter, and from the response to his resignation from opposition MKs, it is abundantly clear which way he's heading. He has adopted the traditional position of his family - that is, hatred for Prime Minister Netanyahu and for the Likud party."
