Opposition head MK Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) has accused the government of leading the Israeli economy to absolute disaster, in the wake of the resignation of Shaul Meridor, the Treasury's budget commissioner.
"The resignation of Shaul Meridor was not a warning sign but a cry of truth," he said. "As we warned, the Israeli economy has become a disaster zone. The economic handling of the coronavirus crisis is a failure on the scale of the Yom Kippur War. What we've seen has been the criminal mismanagement of the economy by a bunch of political hacks who are utterly irresponsible and only concerned with saving their own skins."
