A 45-year-old woman has died of drowning off Zikim beach south of Ashkelon. Despite the efforts of MDA paramedics to resuscitate her, they were forced to determine her death.
MDA paramedic Shai Chamu related: "We received a report of a woman who had been spotted far out at sea by a naval police ship. They brought her in, unconscious and without a pulse and not breathing, and we continued resuscitation attempts where the police left off. However, the woman remained without any signs of life and unfortunately in the end we had to declare her death."
