Weighing in on the ongoing controversy surrounding the issue of Breslov chassidim traveling to Uman for Rosh Hashanah, Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin (Likud) noted that the perceived hypocrisy of the government's officials in selectively enforcing regulations has made the matter more complex.
"There's no need for anyone to travel to Uman," he said, "but it's hard to explain that to people when every single week, thousands of people gather outside the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem."
Levin is not the first person to criticize Prof. Gamzu for saying nothing about the ongoing demonstrations, while reserving his entire ire for those Breslov chassidim wishing to travel to Ukraine.
