Immigration and Absorption Minister Penina Tamano-Shatta, who is herself dealing with a coronavirus infection, spoke out today regarding the ongoing criticism of the manner in which the government's coronavirus project manager is managing the epidemic.

"It's unbelievable that after appointing him to the position, politicians are attacking him, so that instead of dealing with the crisis, Prof. Gamzu has to deal with politics instead," she said.

"If Gamzu thinks that traveling to Uman is dangerous, then we, as the government, need to support him and prevent masses of people flying out," she added. "I hope that logic and responsibility prevail over popularism."
