The Galilee Medical Center has decided to open an additional coronavirus department, due to a sharp rise in the rate of contagion in the north of the country, as well as an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients needing hospitalization.
The new department will open in the next few days, and will be set up in what was the medical center's rehabilitation ward, which will now be closed until further notice, likely pending necessary renovation work to the medical center.
This new department is an addition to the two departments already functional in the medical center, one of which was opened only a few weeks ago, when the first coronavirus department reached capacity.
