Speaking on Galei Tzahal, General (Res.) Gadi Shimoni, former military attache in Washington, attacked the decision of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu not to keep the Defense and Foreign Ministers updated on the progression of negotiations with the United Arab Emirates in the runup to the normalization treaty recently finalized, especially in light of suspicions that the deal includes an agreement to permit the United States to sell F35 fighter jets to the UAE.
"When you're dealing with something as sensitive as that, it's especially crucial to include the Defense Minister and top IDF brass in the negotiations," he said. "The fact that this did not happen attests to a breakdown in the functioning of the government."
