Professor Shmuel Shapira, head of the Israel Institute for Biological Research, presented a report to the Knesset on the progress of the Institute in developing a vaccine for the coronavirus.

"We will not be the first in the world to develop a vaccine, but we should be among the first ten," Shapira said. "Our first stage test group will include 100 healthy individuals. The second stage test group will consist of 1,000 and our third stage wiill include two groups of 20-30,000 inidividuals each."

Dr. Tamar Grossman from Arcturus Therapeutics says that her company is also close to developing a vaccine.

"We are closer than we were," Grossman said. "We have reached an advanced stage of development. We have started human clinical trials in Singapore to check different dosages and their effectiveness. Our trials with animals had a success rate of close to 100%."
